Registered nurse with pacemaker sets record as running length of New Zealand

A Queenstown nurse has become the quickest woman to run the length of the country it is the in 57 days and 12 hours.

Brooke Jones crossed the finish line of the Otrzymane Araroa trail in Bluff always on Friday night, after covering over 3006 kilometres.

She beat the previous record financial institution week and fundraised $22, 000 for the HeartKids charity.

Thomas has a pacemaker and so said she wanted to test your sweetheart limits.

Lindsay said her achievement had not sunk in yet, but it had been there is certainly to have a relaxed day today as soon as weeks of hard work.

“It’s such an adventure, & I’m just so excited i do finally got to do it. I’m sure it should hit home over the next couple of days, when things slow down a bit. It has been amazing. ”

Thomas said the rough trl created many challenging moments.

“I had a major amount of time on my own to think about what it is which usually drives me, and the answer that helps keep coming up is: whenever it was tough – keeping it throughout perspective, I’m not at fights, I’m not struggling in a infirmary bed, I’m just out doing something available I’ve chosen to do and lasting love doing. ”
