Diamond watch: Car catches fire on Sw motorway, Auckland

Video footage consists of emerged of a car fire close to the Southwestern motorway in Auckland today.

The video shows the vehicle engulfed in flames just southern region of the Waterview Tunnel.

One passing motorist told typically Herald when they turned a corner out of the office they were met with a “wall related to grey haze” just before 8am.

The motorist, who was going to the airport, said there was the horrible smell.

“We couldn’t see anyone standing with it, but two cars obtained been parked further up the road, type he said.

“It can’t have been on fire for the long-term, it looked to have started near to the front and made its way in reverse in the vehicle, but there were problems fire trucks there. It was a striking sight. ”

The actual police spokeswoman said they were alerted and responded.

A particular fire engine arrived on the scene before main. 30am and the fire was finally out before 9am.

Difficult no injuries.

Emergency services have left the site of this occurence car fire on SH20 between the two Hillsborough Rd and Dominion Rd, but the left northbound lane will remain BLOCKED. Contractors are on site waiting tow to arrive. Please continue to enjoy with care. ^AL https://t.co/emSYKlB0OU
