Residents pull off SH1 as Pō keno house engulfed in flames

Firefighters are responding to a sizable house fire in the small Waikato town of Pōkeno which is announced to have sent large black because of smoke over the town.

A Fire and Emergency NZ a spokesperson told NZ Herald they have been given multiple calls from 2 . 46pm, alerting them of the well involved house fire on Hillpark Medical professional, Pōkeno.

A total of the eight appliances attended the part, with some set to stay for a few more of their time to ensure all fire is extinguished.

A Fire investigator was on the way to determine cause of fire, although the indication of what caused it is very unclear at this point.

The is a single level 180 metre square property.

People have been accounted for with no injuries seen at this time.

Jean Bell said she got travelling on State Highway 1 near the house, and said many drivers had pulled off the road as a result fire.

“It was seen as burning strongly, fire had encompass the whole house. ”

No injuries reported, all people consisted of.
