A Queenstowner is batting clear concerns about mountain bike jumps on his Malaghans Rd property.

Head council planner Train Avery says “our enforcement sports team has been notified and is currently evaluating the matter”.

Landowner Mike Robb confirms he’s obtain a letter from a council normal after concerns were raised at least possible non-complying earthworks on his farmland.

“Apparently you’re can be shift 400 cubic metres — I believe [the jumps] are well inside the 400 limit, and will be shouldn’t be any issues with compliance applying district plan. ”

He explains his mountain cycling son, who’s now 23, owns wanted to build some jumps taking into consideration that he was young.

He says he started out last summer with the help of “hand-digging stuff” but now has a companion with a digger who’s recently help out.

“It in actuality just comes down to boys with their baby toys. ”

Robb confesses the jumps are “sort to do with professional-sized, but that’s the crowd this guy hangs with, and it’s just boy having a bit of fun, basically”.

“A lot of it is not earthworks, it’s just killing off grassland to make the runs. ”

He says as grass grows a support, “just the landing areas thinking tracks running down will be visible”.

“The rest of ıt’s going to sort of return to what was pre-existing, correctly.

The whole issue likely be greatly reduced. ”

Poplars planted along a water contest will also limit what can be seen by the road, he adds.

It’s understandable, he says, some people tend to be concerned when they see “lots linked bare dirt”, but “other adult men and women, of course , think it’s awesome”.

“No one complains about a slash being put through the mountainside for a road to be put in.

“At the end of the day female just private property, it’s a secluded thing.

“Yeah, this big, but it will be minimised for the reason that grass grows back over things, plus you won’t really notice it.

“Look across the other borders of the road to Millbrook and pay attention to what’s going there. ”
