Emergency services are responding to has reported of a pedestrian being hit by way of a vehicle in Whangārei.

A police spokeswoman stated the incident happened just after 6pm in Raewyn St, Morningside.

St John ambulance confirmed one patient had been transferred by ambulance to Northland Standard Hospital in a serious condition.
