Losing out on Tauranga man Gregg Shaw established alive after crashing car out SH2

A man missing from Tauranga since Christmas Day has been found alive this afternoon down a bank in his crashed car an hour north of Gisborne.

Gregg Shaw, 67, was last seen in Pāpāmoa on the morning of Christmas Day. He was due to drive to Gisborne but had not arrived.

Police issued pleas to the public for help to try to find Shaw, saying Shaw’s family and they were concerned for his safety.

A law enforcement department spokeswoman confirmed to the Bay coming from all Plenty Times that Shaw attained this afternoon been found in his vehicles down a 5m bank with a towel State Highway 2, north as to Gisborne.

Shaw experienced crashed down a bank inside Matawai and had been there since, the celebrity said.

He was identified just after 4pm.

Shaw suffered some injuries “but will be okay” and was conscious because discovered by rescuers, the speaker said.

It is accredited Shaw’s family is now en route to get back together with him.

The actual helicopter has been dispatched to the field to transport Shaw to hospital.

SH2 will be closed to pick Cemetery Rd and Rakauroa Rd to allow the helicopter to land.
