Ex- MP Chris Finlayson says Trevor Mallard no-confidence vote is ‘ritualistic rubbish’

A former attorney-general from Trevor Mallard’s reign as Teacher is safe, despite revelations his fake “rape” claim cost taxpayers greater $333, 000 to resolve. But he admits that Mallard should be footing his own 100 % legal bill, not the public.

Mallard issued a personal apology in the next few days to a former staffer he falsely accused of being a rapist.

He issued the policy the same afternoon of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Christchurch dread attacks, prompting claims he was using bury his apology on a bustling news day.

National leader Judith Collins said the party has estranged confidence in Mallard.

Finlayson said he’d purchased “issues” with Mallard over the years.

“But I think in justness he’s trying to be Parliament’s many individuals and he’s raised standards including question time because a lot of we are far too lax in the questions these folks asked.

“If they will get a bit of a kick in the apparel from him that’s no bad aspect. ”
