Motorcyclist dies after crashing into forest

A street bike rider has died after ramming into a tree in Canterbury.

Emergency teams in a rush to the crash site at Williams Rd in Kaiapoi after obtaining called about 3. 10pm.

By the time they landed, the tree was on fire since blocking Williams Rd, a law spokeswoman said.

Police later confirmed that the motorcyclist died in the crash.

Police have been diverting page views while serious crash investigators ended up asked to attend also.

“At this stage, there isn’t a information available on injuries, ” the spokeswoman said.

The serious crash unit is examining.
