A teenager hunter reported missing in Southern states Canterbury has made contact

A busy search for a teenager reported missing about a hunting trip in South Canterbury is over after he made contact by using cell phone.

Marcus McKay, 19, had been missing because of the fact 9pm on Friday.

It’s believed he was hang around seen dropping his partner and therefore brother home after a trip to Christchurch before heading out on hunting jaunt with a mate.

His family have been trying to get to him by phone and currently being desperate for news as the hours ticked by.

As stated today police said they were upcoming leads for the missing teen afterwards receiving a call about a hunter delayed from a day trip with a friend, throughout 9pm last night.

The caller did not know the location where person was going hunting, and also who the friend was.

However , police have just confirmed to the Herald “the hunter has got back into cell reception is now made contact – all is good. ”

Marcus’ mother Jocelyn McKay earlier ordered Stuff her son’s phone is going straight to voice mail.

McKay said your loved one’s son had been driving a grey Mitsubishi Triton which was also missing.

She believed having been in the Geraldine area but rumoured he could be anywhere in the South Canterbury region.

“I’m trying to be positive, but our extensive family is in tears most of the time, lunch break she said.

“I can’t help but reckon the worst because it’s such out-of-character. He’s the sort of certain where he’s in contact with family again and again, he’s very family-orientated. He’s among the boys who’s always on his phone call. ”

McKay told Stuff her son possessed only been hunting a handful of hours and did not own a gun.

“I think he was just going out with people who have done it then before.

“We’ve had lots of support from friends, and lots of people wanting to go up and indulge in a look. I can’t thank those people adequate amounts. ”
