Snorkeller dies in Coromandel, Otara Bay, water incident

A snorkeller has died following a water incident in the Coromandel this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 2:30pm, where a person had been pulled from the water in Otara Bay.

Medical attention was administered, however the victim died at the scene, police said in a statement.

The death will be referred to the Coroner.
