Sudden-death incident reported at Petone Shore, Wellington

A when your believed to have been found on a Wellington beach.

Cop have not confirmed whether a body cleaned up, was discovered by someone you care about or left there as a result of some type incident, only that they were notified of a “sudden death in the water” at 2 . 17pm.

The incident happened inside a Lower Hutt suburb of Petone.

Social media consumers said a body had been bought at Petone Beach this afternoon.

Police said the the demise has been referred to the Coroner.

It is unclear at this stage whether the death has any link with that of missing kayaker Koyren Campbell, however his boss has submitted to Facebook stating the body is not Campbell’s.

The 22-year-old has been missing since mid-January when he failed to return home from a sport fishing trip.

A few of kayak was found deserted by having a fresh catch of fish.

The search for Campbell was officially called off upon January 22, but friends and family carry continued an unofficial search now.

Campbell’s owner David Downer has been one of the fraction leading the search since then, and after this posted on a Facebook page dedicated in the search saying the body wasn’t Campbell’s.

Later on said Campbell remained missing.
