Person dies after falling in workplace incident in Christchurch

A person has died in a workplace incident in Christchurch, with WorkSafe believing that they fell from a height.

A police spokeswoman said were called to a Sydenham address at 11.10am today after reports a person had fallen.

“WorkSafe is being notified and inquiries are underway into the circumstances of the incident.”

WorkSafe says they have been notified of this morning’s fatality.

“We understand the victim fell from a height. We are making initial inquiries to establish what our next steps might be, including whether an investigation will be launched,” a WorkSafe spokeswoman said.
