Karori homicide: Woman charged over homicide of Rau Tongia appears all over court

One of the women incurred in relation to the fatal shooting within Wellington man Rau Tongia makes appeared in court.

A 20-year-old woman – who it is accused of being an accessory following a fact to Tongia’s murder over December 20 – grinned on top of that mouthed words to her supporters simply because she stood in the dock electronic Wellington District Court.

A 35-year-old woman who is incurring with murdering Tongia will not come out until after lunch.

The younger defendant only had a momentary appearance before Judge Ian Mill adjourned her case to this morning.

The woman’s lawyer recognized more time was needed so they would advance a bail application onto her behalf.

Court documents indict the younger women “actively suppressed evidence” by transporting and concealing an actual firearm at an associate’s property so that you can help someone avoid conviction.

Tongia, 33, was searched for dead in his Karori home at the rear of last month.

Loved ones of the Tongia and supporters of the defendants sat in the public gallery, after working the morning waiting for the appearances.

The woman cannot yet stay named, and lawyers have suggested there will be an application for name cession.

As the younger wannabe mum was led from the court the girl loved ones blew kisses and termed as out “love you”.

Despite the murder charge, police will always be appealing to the public for any information.

“The investigation is still pre-existing and police would still choose hear from anyone who has information which may facilitate, ” a statement said this morning.

“Police are not ruling from the possibility of further charges. ”

Anyone who may have seen and heard anything suspicious in the before time hours of Sunday, December 28, and who has not spoken among authorities is urged to contact court arrest immediately via 105.

Police revealed yesterday that they employed located a firearm they conceived was linked to his death.

The firearm was bought during a search warrant in Wilton earlier this month, police said.

“It is currently undergoing forensic analysis. ”

Law enforcement department said they are also looking into whether or not the firearm is linked to any other offending along side district.

“While examining is underway, police [are] unable to provide further information at the firearm, ” police said.

“No one should have to tolerated this activity in their neighbourhood and we will continue to target those involved in bloody offending. ”
