Christchurch’s busiest and most dangerous roads exhibited

Christchurch’s busiest and most crash-prone roadways can now be revealed.

Moorhouse Ave tops the list of most frantic roads, said Christchurch City Local authority or council head of transport Richard Osborne, with about 52, 600 vehicle owners using it a day, followed by Bealey Garottere with 42, 200, Main Towards the south Rd with 38, 500, Blenheim Rd with 35, 800 associated with Fitzgerald Ave with 31, 000.

The only death on a these roads in the last year was concerning Blenheim Rd, where there were 23 crashes over this time period.

Bealey Ave had 30 crashes, the most of any way in Christchurch. There were 26 dives on Main South Rd, 02 on Fitzgerald Ave, and twenty-one on Moorhouse Ave.

Osborne also outlined which streets are at the top of the city council’s priority list for safety repairs.

The highest priority design is the installation of guardrails at high-risk locations on Dyers Pass Rd. This job is due to be handled over the current and next financial spring.

Since 2008, firms more than 270 crashes on Dyers Pass Rd, and several deaths.

Next on the list of top points is improving the Pound while Ryans Rds intersection, including improving the roundabout. This area is also likely to be crashes, with 56 between last year and 2018.

Your current Pound and Ryans Rds locality work is due to start in the next a serious year and be completed by 2024.

Rounding out the town council’s top priorities is the move up of signals at the intersection most typically associated with Lower Styx and Marshland Rds, upgrading the signals at the Greers, Northcote and Sawyers Arms Rds intersection, and upgrading the roundabout at the Marshs and Springs Rds intersection.
