Parents disputes explode in Christchurch previously holiday period

The number of disputes between neighbours gone to by police almost doubled across Christchurch over Christmas and New Year.

Police usually enroll about 10 of these disputes one week. Sergeant Jim Currie said there was clearly 20 two weeks ago and there has been between 15 or 20 every since Christmas.

Currie said most conflicts have been during small things, including a New Brighton resident who became abusive associated with his neighbour for putting wheelie bins on the berm outside this house.
