Papakura scrap metal fire: Fire deck hands now gone, but cause keep unknown

Fire crews have left the enviroment of a large scrap metal blaze as South Auckland – just under a day after it started.

One crew remained at the Hunua Rd site, in the suburb over Papakura, overnight.

Every northern fire communications spokeswoman dietary fad firefighters were still damping below hotspots shortly after 3. 30am recently.

“Not everyone got the text. In case if [the air] had been poisonous, I would’ve had breathing problems.

“I was sitting on my deck when my neighbour wandered past and told me. The windows [were] open when it’s hot. ”

The 58-year-old had earlier already been on a walk with her dog anytime you are she saw police officers wearing hides.

She did not remember there had been a fire until considered one her neighbours asked if this woman had got “the text”.

A second neighbour, Shirley Chapman, also reported not receiving the documents. Both women live in Papakura.

“Nobody had said whatever thing. It could’ve been really crazy for people who are vulnerable, ” Ford producer said.

“We should not all sit with the radio by means of hear the news. A lot would not happen to aware that it was on, but they would’ve had their air conditioning going and their windows open. ”
