Medical personnel battle house fire in Tamatea, Hawke’s Bay

Residents of a property in the Napier region of Tamatea have managed to flee a house fire unscathed.

Emergency services were called for a home on Wynyard Cres, Tamatea, about 6. 10am on Sunday.

Four fire deckie’s arrived at the scene to find the hold “well ablaze”, a Fire and Tragedy New Zealand spokesman said.

Smoke from the blaze was regarded as so intense it could be seen with Taradale’s Dolbel Reserve, where morning walkers were exercising.

The spokesman said people were inside your at the time but managed to get out as well as all were accounted for.

Police said virtually no injuries were reported.

A police spokesman said the fire was put out by firefighters before 7. 10am.

A fireplace investigator is currently on the scene carrying out an investigation, according to the FENZ spokesman.
