A lady was swindled out of $15, 500 by a phone scammer, sparking a complete stern warning for the public is vigilant.

Sergeant Germoglio McKenzie, of Dunedin, said all of the 69-year-old Dunedin woman was called on Friday night by yet another claiming to be a Spark employee, but was told her account was being hacked.

Personal information was worn by the caller.
