Teenage boys found in Manuherikia River Gorge once delay prompts search

A law enforcement department search and rescue operation continues mounted after four teenagers ended up reported overdue in their attempts to search via the Manuherikia River to Ophir Bridge this afternoon.

It could understood that the four teenagers attain later been found, apparently cautious and well, near a connection in the gorge.

A single police spokeswoman said the teens, apparently aboard kayaks, a lilo and an inflatable doughnut, knowledgeable set out about 2 . 15pm only to have been expected to reach the connection about ninety minutes later.

Police were notified which involves 5. 55pm when they had not landed as expected, and a search and recover party had been put together and it has been planned to put up a heli-copter in a bid to locate the teen patients in the Manuherikia River Gorge.
