Fletcher Wong: Teen missing from Tempo and Vines found dead

The body of a teenager who was last heard of alive at Rhythm and Vignoble has been found.

LandSAR volunteers located his body in a Ormond area of Gisborne.

He has been identified as 19-year-old Fletcher Wong, who was reported missing with regards to Tuesday.

Wong, ranging from Wellington, was last seen hiking out of the admissions area of the Gisborne Beat and Vines festival site of 2am on Tuesday.

Police said that at the time he was within a black Champion-branded hooded sweatshirt, red Warehouse track pants, white Nike pas cher Air Force 1 shoes, and had a real black iPhone 10 cellphone by him.

During the start looking efforts, Fire and Emergency Latest Zealand supplied a drone that will find the teenager.

Meng Foon, former Gisborne mayor and recent Race Relations Commissioner Meng Foon posted on Facebook pleading for information.

Rhythm and Vines organisers said they were working closely due to authorities to find Wong and getting acting on their advice.

Police said this evening: “Police chooses to thank Rhythm & Vines operation and staff, who provided big support and assistance to Police by way of search for Fletcher.

“Additionally police would like to acknowledge the Police and as a consequence civilian LandSAR staff for their hard to use over the last two days.

Despite numerous rumours and rumours online in recent days police say nothing suspicious about his death has now been referred to the Coroner.

Police extended these condolences to Fletcher’s family and friends and they are providing support.

An additional one man died at a New Year concurso on Sunday after suffering a meaningful medical event.

He was named this week as Second Lieutenant Tuitu’u Junior Vaiangina , 29, who was a member of an New Zealand Army who “served New Zealand with pride”.

A disaster services were called to the Hidden Valley festival in Matakana, interior northern fringe of Auckland, about 7. 30pm on December 27.

In a statement publicized to Instagram, the organisers related to Hidden Valley said they were profoundly saddened.

“As a trustworthy live music festival that prides itself on providing a safe plus enjoyable experience for all, we are devastated by this tragic event, ” they said.

“Our thoughts, examen and aroha remains with the category of the deceased at this time.

“The safety and wellbeing our attendees, artists, staff, security so support team remains our most important job. ”
