Fled from Auckland cockatiel’s mammoth journey in direction of the Coromandel

Keith the cockatiel’s very first time flying outside wasn’t just a little trip in the local area – nevertheless , a more than 60km journey all through North Island.

Ludique took to Facebook – “posting are fond of mad” – on a desperate mission to find his adored pet.

But as days passed not having a sign of Keith, Champion gave up hope of ever seeing the talent again.

Meanwhile, having a Coromandel Peninsula campground, an Auckland couple were sitting outside an individual’s tents on Boxing Day for the “abnormal” looking bird landed into their ute.

Amy Lorry Den Berg climbed up on about the truck to try to fetch the fowl – which would turn out to be Keith help off the windscreen where he had ended up with. He then flew and landed to seducre her arm.

She desired campers at the campsite if anyone possessed the bird.

Viajan Den Berg then posted any cockatiel Facebook group about the racer she had found – to was flooded with responses in people who recognised Keith.

She was linked up with Partenaire, and they soon realised that Truck Den Berg’s partner had gone to school with Champion’s daughter.

The couple returned from their rest a day early to give Keith go back to Champion.

Van Family den Berg said she was “shocked” by how happy Champion was going to be reunited with Keith.

“He was stoked. I was amazed. ”
