Toxic algae warning for North Canterbury town

The Canterbury Place Health Board is warning reduce weight stay away from Lake Pegasus.

Canterbury DHB Medical Officer as to Health Dr Cherly Brunton granted a public health warning for the bay on Monday after potentially chemical substances algae, also known as planktonic cyanobacteria, offers found there.

“If you experience all of these symptoms visit your doctor immediately along with please let your doctor know should you have had contact with the lake having water. ”

No one may drink the water from the lake everytime. Boiling the water does not remove the toxin, Dr Brunton said.

Animals that show signs of syndrome after coming into contact with algal maussade or scums should be taken to a nice vet immediately.

Software environment Canterbury monitors the lake 7 days a week during summer and the public will be better of any changes in water class that are of public health significance.
