Kid in critical condition after occurrence at West Auckland beach

A boy is in a critical condition after an occurrence at a West Auckland beach today.

A St John spokeswoman says two people had been flown by helicopter to hospital from Cornwallis Beach.

The child has been taken to Starship Children’s Hospital and a male adult in his 40s is in a reasonable condition in Auckland Hospital.

A Westpac Save Helicopter spokesman said they were called to Cornwallis after reports associated with two people falling from a boat.

“A passing kayaker effected a rescue back to shoreline, ” he said.
